Apple AFP status for future macOS versions

Apple macOS includes file sharing support via AFP as well as SMB for today's Macs. Recently Apple has communicated in the “macOS Sequoia 15.5” documentation for enterprise customers that AFP will be removed from macOS in the future.

During next week's Apple Developer Conference (WWDC) we expect that more detailed information becomes available. In particular, we will install and verify the AFP status in beta macOS versions which may get available to us during WWDC, and talk with the Apple support team about this.

HELIOS G8 servers support exclusively the AFP protocol with Spotlight for Mac clients, and we will continue to support AFP for years to come. The HELIOS SMB implementation is not ready for end-users.
