HELIOS receives FograCert soft proof certification
HELIOS and Quato offer a real alternative to print proofs
Proofing of images and documents for content and color is an ongoing process, from initial draft through final approval and production. Clients, designers, and print and web production teams must collaborate, often at a distance. There has been a “religious war” between soft proofs on a proof monitor versus printed proofs.
However, everybody was convinced by the excellent quality of the WebShare proofs that we displayed in a web browser via a Quato proof monitor, and that web-based remote proofing with remote customers and contractors is the way to go. And this is now confirmed by Fogra with the FograCert, which we received for our remote soft proofing solution.
The FograCert soft proofing system specifies requirements for a soft proofing system which is intended to achieve a high-quality visual match between a display and a reference (typically defined by a printing condition). Visual characteristics further include provisions for testing uniformity, profile accuracy, gamut, and colorimetric accuracy.
