Subject

rebuild could dump core upon finding circular ID references

Info

Upon rebuilding a desktop with directories that have their own
ID as parent directory ID rebuild did core dump due to a
recursive stack overflow. Also fixed:
- Rebuild did refuse to scan read-only volumes.
- Rebuild could dump core upon attempting to parse certain
damaged resource forks.
- Added a new command line option "-D charset" or atalk.conf
option "displaycharset=charset". These options can be used to
modify the output of the rebuild command, which is by default
raw UTF8 characters. The atalk.conf option will set the
default for all rebuild invocations. As EtherShare Admin
cannot yet display UTF8 in the convert volume log window and
system message windows it may be useful to set this to
MacRoman in western environments or SJIS in japanese
environments. If the system log is also viewed under Unix
using UTF8 aware console windows it might instead be useful to
include the "-D charset" on the rebuild command line in the
$ESDIR/etc/convertvol script instead, this way only the ES
Admin convert volume functions will use the converted output
and the system log messages will be left as UTF8.
