Virtual Server Appliance – Save Money and Add Flexibility

Server virtualization is the technology that enables one or more “virtual machines” (VMs) to run on a single physical server host. There are many advantages to using VMs, including easier maintenance, failover support, and greater security. HELIOS UB2 server solutions running within a VM are flexible, highly available, and easy to transfer, enabling server consolidation, energy savings, and isolation of services.

Learn how easy it is to deploy HELIOS in a virtual machine, using the new HELIOS Virtual Server Appliance. This seminar discusses how to decide if a virtualized environment is right for your HELIOS server, and how to deploy and maintain HELIOS servers in the VMware, Hyper-V and Xen virtualization solutions.

iPad Document Hub – Mobile File Sharing and Publishing Platform

iPad already has remarkable penetration in business environments. But HELIOS sees even greater potential for this device in remote computing and publishing.

In this seminar, learn all about the new HELIOS WebShare Document Hub app. The focus of the Document Hub app is to serve as a hub for documents on the iPad, enabling transparent file sharing between a file server and apps on the iPad. Select a file from the file server, and easily open it in an iPad app. Or print it locally via AirPrint. Or present it on the iPad screen or external monitor!

Automatic file synchronization with your server makes it ideal for collaboration and to publish documents.

The HELIOS Document Hub app enables highly secure access to business documents on your server, via the private cloud WebShare server.

In addition, this seminar will discuss how customers can develop their own apps to communicate with their WebShare server. Utilize HELIOS tools, technologies, and code to rapidly deploy your own custom apps. Will this be the new publishing paradigm for the iPad? Sign up to find out.

Remote Soft Proofing – Monitor Proofs Can Replace Print Proofs

This seminar discusses remote image and document reviewing, proofing, and approvals. It introduces the Fogra certified HELIOS WebShare/PrintPreview soft proofing system, along with its built-in hierarchical annotation system.

Learn how collaboration throughout the design and approval process can be made easy – using any web browser (even on an iPad!), users can remotely access, view, and annotate server images and documents. The multi-user threaded annotation system allows adding comments and approval status indicators to multi-page PDF and Office documents, image files, and optionally QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign XPV files.

Discover how to attain the highest possible accuracy for soft proofs of images and PDFs, utilizing the techniques HELIOS used to achieve its FograCert remote soft proof certifications. These best practices and advanced techniques show how to produce highly accurate and reliable soft proofs in your own system.

Applying the techniques from this seminar, you can speed your design and approval process, to improve quality, and save time and money.

Spotlight Search – Find Server Files by Text Content or Metadata from Mac, Windows, and Web Clients

Finding files on large file server volumes should be fast and easy. Reality is different – a file system search of a large storage system can easily take hours. A HELIOS UB2 Spotlight search though, returns search results in seconds. This Apple Spotlight compatible search technology enables Mac, Windows and web users to quickly find server files, based upon file name, metadata, or text content.

Full-text searches of PDF files, Office documents, Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress preview files, and  text files are fully supported. Even searches based upon image attributes, XMP metadata of images, WebShare annotation information and PDF form fields can be performed.

This seminar shows how simple it is for users to find server files via Spotlight searches from Mac, Windows, and web clients, and how advanced search techniques can be used to refine results. It then looks behind the scenes, discussing how text and meta data get indexed and retrieved. Command-line access for automated searches is explored, as well as how to define your own XMP panels in Photoshop, so that custom metadata fields can be Spotlight indexed.

High productivity relies upon instant access to needed resources. Learn how to enable your users to step up their productivity by utilizing the HELIOS Spotlight search system.
