HELIOS UB+ support for Mac OS X 10.6

Snow Leopard is not supported as HELIOS server platform. Mac OS X 10.6 “Snow Leopard” and “Snow Leopard Server” include major low level directory services and networking protocol changes that make them incompatible as a HELIOS server platform.

Future HELIOS product versions will support Mac OS 10.6 as a server, however there are no announcements and release date available.

In the meantime customers should continue to use supported Mac OS X Server versions, 10.4 and 10.5. The complete list of HELIOS supported platforms can be found at: www.helios.de/web/EN/support/platforms.html.

Update:

We found an issue, where the HELIOS TCP Printer configuration dialog does not display all buttons on localized OS versions.

When using an English system, the “Add” and “Cancel” buttons are available, but a German localization shows no “Hinzufügen” and “Abbrechen” buttons. As a workaround, use the ENTER and ESC keys. This is a Mac OS X 10.6.0 - 10.6.3 issue only. HELIOS TCP Printer works fine on Mac OS X 10.6.4.

The “HELIOS Meta” Finder plug-in for adding and editing file comments does not work on Mac OS X 10.6 anymore. We are working on a solution for this problem.
