HELIOS Base G8

is the core foundation of every HELIOS G8 product. It provides the service controller, printing system, authentication server, remote administration, networking and imaging libraries, tools and more.

Ease of Use

Installation, configuration and updates are straightforward. Switching platforms takes only minutes and preserves all custom HELIOS settings.

Server Fail Safety

Designed for mission-critical use. The HELIOS Service Controller starts, stops and monitors all services, generating separate processes per user for security. Failed services are restarted automatically.

Advanced Printing System

supplies the full HELIOS printing system to all other HELIOS products.

HELIOS Authentication Server

supports LDAP, AD/PDC, NIS and local users, including mixed environments.

HELIOS mDNS Server (“Bonjour”)

enables automatic discovery of computers, devices and services.

HELIOS Index Server

indexes file names, file content (PDF, Office, text) and metadata for Spotlight-compatible searches.

HELIOS DHCP Server

provides TCP/IP configuration to Windows, Mac and other devices.

Synchronization Service

synchronizes folders or volumes to a different location (NFS, second disk). The copy can be published for client access.
