 PDF 1.4 encryption support |
| Info
This update enables processing of PDF documents using the high encryption level of Acrobat 5 (PDF 1.4). Now you can print and layout PDF documents with Acrobat 5 security or use PDF command line tools with them. PDF 1.4 encryption features encryption key lengths in the range from 40 to 128 bits. The previous PDF 1.1 encryption supported keys with 40 bits only. Also fixed: - Printing PDF documents where character outlines of CID encoded fonts are used for path construction could result in wrong visible output, i.e. text could appear in wrong color. - Printing or layouting PDF files which contain both CID encoded fonts and inline images could fail. - Added support for PDF files which contain TrueType fonts without a named encoding and with a differences array. The treatment of such TrueType fonts is not covered by the PDF standard, but documents with such TrueType fonts can be generated using QuarkXPress and Adobe Distiller. - Improved fault tolerance for PDF documents with improper resource dictionaries. NOTE: Before installing this update, the update installer itself must be updated with one of the updates u0300-u0306. |
